SOBA- NA meeting in NYC, with Mr. R S Pawar

Despite just a few days notice and despite being a weekday , we had close to 20 Scindians who gathered to meet and spend time with Mr Rajendra S Pawar in Manhattan on 5th Nov evening.
Raji Pawar spend good time meeting all Scindians present, and then spend a good hour explaining
in depth the progress and activities at the School, all the work being undertaken and planned wrt
Infrastructure, Academics et al. He spoke very passionately about the upcoming "SOBA House".
He also expressed keen desire for SOBA to extend from alumni networking to "connecting with the School", even if it meant mentoring to students - both on campus and long distance - and any other areas the Alumni may wish to engage and contribute in.
The program went from 6pm to close to 8.30 pm , Raji's address was followed by candid questions and answers with Alumni present.
The senior most old boy present was Pradeep Nayyar (64 pass out) who just was in the city for travel.
Then few from batch of 74 were present, who just attended their 40th Reunion.
The young brigade of 2000-2009 pass outs was also well represented.
Rohit Garg, 2008 - who has been working actively in supporting SOBA -NA events - was formally included in the SOBA - NA Executive Team.
The event and food was graciously hosted by Mr Talat Ansari and Mr Deepak Nambiar, Partners at Kelley Drye, Leading law firm of USA at their midtown NYC office . www.kelleydrye.com Mr Ansari is Alumni of Lovedale and they attended the entire meeting with interest.
